At Fetish & Proud vzw (F&P), we highly value the privacy and protection of the personal data of our members and applicants. This statement explains how we handle your information, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What data do we collect?

When you apply for membership, we collect the data necessary for the administration of our association, as stipulated in our statutes. This generally includes:

• First and last name
• Contact details (email address, phone number)
• Address details (as required for the official membership register)
• Date of birth (to verify the minimum age requirement of 18)

2. Why do we collect this data?

We use your data exclusively for the following purposes:

• Maintaining the legally required membership register.
• Communication regarding our events, general assemblies, and association news.
• Verifying the payment of membership fees.

3. Data retention period

During membership: We retain your data for as long as you are an active member of Fetish & Proud.

After membership: When a membership ends (due to resignation, exclusion, or non-payment), we retain the data for a period of three (3) years. After this period, the data will be definitively and automatically deleted from our systems. We maintain this term to efficiently handle any administrative inquiries or re-registrations.

4. Your rights

As a member or applicant, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access: You may request to see what data we hold about you at any time.
• Right to rectification: If your details are no longer correct, let us know and we will update them.
• Right to erasure: You may request to have your data deleted at any time.

Important: Since we are legally required to maintain a membership register, a request for the complete erasure of your data will always result in the immediate termination of your membership in the association. We cannot maintain membership status without the necessary personal data.

5. Security and data sharing

Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to the Board of Directors of the VZW. We never sell or share your data with third-party commercial entities. Data is only shared if legally required.
